NeWater has passed more than 65 , 000 scientific tests and surpassed World Health Organisation requirements. PUB also blends a small percentage of NeWater with the reservoir water .

[ In The Year 2002 ]

We have two taps , Johor water and local catchment water to meet Singapore water demand . Today we consume 300 million galons of water per day .

[ In The Year 2012 ]

In 10 years time , on the demand side will increase as we will be consuming one - third ( 1/3 ) more than what we are consuming today .

Johor water supplies will be reduced as the agreement made by both countries 1961 will expiry in 2011 . By then , we will have two additional taps of supply ; NeWater & Desalted Water . Singapore will then have a total of four big National Taps (:

The water flowing out from each and every one of these four taps is of equally good .
